D’ALÌ - Vostok
(WIM - Laboratori Musicali Indipendenti)
Vostok, the debut album by D’Alì, a pop-rock band influenced by the electronic sounds of the '80s, arrives on the Italian music scene.
The album's title is derived from the name of the first manned space mission because the theme the band decided to explore throughout the entire album is that of travel, starting from dreams of space travel and adventures like those seen in movies, arriving at personal journeys, those made of memories, emotions, and sensations.
All of this is presented in a work composed of 14 songs that create a style straddling a singer-songwriter approach very similar to that of Bustelle (thanks also to Di Bello's voice and vocal style, which is very close to that of Bianconi) and a sort of Synth pop that at times recalls Duran Duran.
As for the lyrics, it must be said that even though the songs are all linked by the same underlying theme, there is a great variety of topics, ranging from dreams of space (and other) adventures to reflections on the inexorable passage of time, passing through tracks of critique (towards society and trash TV), romantic songs, and pieces dominated by profound inner reflections.
