Last entry dedicated to the rediscovery of Cynic's demos. This brief work from 1991 is probably the most appealing to the group's fans, as we finally witness the general rehearsals for "Focus."

The title of the opener is enough to understand we are facing a high-caliber demo, "Uroboric Forms." We find it in this work in a version different from the original; it is sung almost entirely in growl without the aid of filtered vocals, which sneak in for just a few seconds in the central part. I assure you that this track, even though still in an "experimental" phase, can easily compete with the later version from 1993. The following tracks are two little gems, "The Eagle Nature" and "Pleading For Preservation," which are hard to describe with words; I can only recommend you listen to them. Finally, after three demo trial runs, the perfect Cynic machine is ready. Violence, atmosphere, musicality, all concentrated in the hands of these ingenious guys. Riffs, rhythms, solos, breaks, vocals, everything is perfectly blended and can only enthrall the listener, both musically and emotionally. Death metal outbursts are infused with jazz passages that give you goosebumps, not a note out of place; every single component is like a part of a house of cards, all supporting each other, one small uncertainty from just one could render everything in vain, but this does not happen, the harmony between all instruments is incredible.

The group has only grown and improved over the years, and this demo is the proof. Cynic have found their way, and this is the prelude to a masterpiece; in 1991, they took a break, in 1993 they returned and never left the minds of anyone who had heard what they were capable of creating in "Focus." Just four demos and a single album, but these testimonies are more than enough to make Cynic's star shine in the history of Metal.
