Crazy Frog

Musical Group or Musician

Crazy Frog is a Swedish CGI character and novelty music act best known for the 2005 cover of "Axel F" and the album Crazy Frog Presents Crazy Hits. The project rose from a ringtone phenomenon to mainstream chart success.

Originated as the 3D character often called "The Annoying Thing" (created in 2003). The sound that inspired the project was popularized from an imitation by Daniel Malmedahl; the animated character and subsequent music releases were commercially successful (notably the 2005 "Axel F" single) and were heavily marketed as ringtones.

DeBaser hosts one review of Crazy Frog that celebrates the character's unexpected chart success and novelty appeal. The review highlights the UK #1 run and the distinctive vocal hooks. It notes controversial visuals in music videos and fond personal nostalgia for 'Axel F'.

For:Fans of novelty/dance music, 2000s pop culture and ringtone-era nostalgia.

To debut at number one on the UK charts and stay there for three consecutive weeks is an almost impossible feat for any human being: however, the feat is even more challenging if you belong to the animal kingdom.
