Take two little students dedicated to the cult of Lovecraft.

Take a cover like Balthus...

Take the taste for strangeness, which is a real taste, you know, made of adventure, of course, but also of a bit of sickness thrown in the face of the healthy...

Then consider the fact that Belgium actually exists and, thank goodness, because no one wanted them and when they were thrown out by Tony Wilson's Factory, it was indeed a Belgian label that produced the little gem in question.

See, these are the kinds of things that fill my heart with joy. As if all the confused chimeras (that always stir in our heart) were confused no more. They've found a form, perhaps confused itself, but still a form.

Track 6, let's say. Something a bit silly and a bit heart-breaking, a group of misfits singing around the fire.

Four and five, on the other hand, are respectively: a ragged and martial folk recorded live in a pub that, damn, I’d love to know where it is; and a psychedelic/wave run shot at such a crazy speed that, every time, every single damn time, it knocks your socks off.

You see, I'd already be happy like this...

But there are also almost Residents moments and almost pop moments. Not to mention those almost... uh...

A flaw? When they drag things out, they get a bit annoying. But you can't have it all.

And anyway, yes, Belgium does indeed exist...

Which then reminds me, the most beautiful earthly creature I've known (unfortunately not in the biblical sense) claimed to come from those parts.

It's just that, after saying something like “your beauty is almost unreal” and not receiving the reply that a woman worthy of the name should give, in a soul void attributable to the genre “the fox and the grapes”, I mentally dismissed her as “the usual French brat”...

But she was Belgian though...
