- Do you spend your afternoons repeatedly listening to the first waves of the so-called Emo-Core?

- Are you looking for a band that can replicate not only the same stylistic coordinates of the aforementioned musical trend but also the same emotional level?

Well, stop insulting those youngsters with black bangs, armed with makeup and razors, for a moment and go in search of Crash of Rhinos.

If in Italy we are quite happy to have people like Fine Before You Came, these guys are none other than their English buddies, hailing from the county of Derbyshire, two bassists (Paul Beal and Ian Draper), two guitarists (Jim Cork and Richard Birkin), and drummer Oli Craven, who scream emotionally charged lyrics as the '90s American Indie dictates.

"Distal" is a fresh novelty of 2011 distributed by Triste, which could be described as a synthesis of the two albums by Mineral with the ecstatic extension of the LP by American Football but with the screams of Cap'n Jazz, combined with a musical structure sometimes not very dissimilar to bands like June of '44, a clear example being songs from the album like "Stiltwalker" and "Gold On Red", if we had to associate their style with an album by At The Drive-In, the closest match is surely "In Casino Out". "Distal" welcomes the listener into a wide stretch of water where the components of the aforementioned groups swim joyfully ("Big Sea"), the heart of the work is in the two shorter tracks, "Wide Awake" and "Lifewood" which features the most memorable vocals, the track of the album to listen to on loop, and closes in the most dreamy tone with the final part of "Closure" and "Asleep". The essential cover is beautiful in perfect revivalistic tone.

2011 offered a perfect nostalgic punch with the charge of the rhinoceroses.
