THE REVIEW

In the tumultuous vortex of krautrock, arises the visionary attempt of Rolf-Ulrich Kaiser, guru of the krautrock scene, to redeem the world through a symphony of sounds and psychotropic substances following the teachings of Timothy Leary. The interest of this project called Cosmic Jokers was to create cosmic music to develop consciences thanks to LSD. Klaus Schulze, an iconic figure of the krautrock scene, learned with bitterness about the release of this saga's albums without his consent. Schulze has always despised these albums and wished for every single copy to be destroyed, buried, and forgotten. In contrast, Julian Cope, in his legendary "Krautrocksmapler," elevates the Cosmic Jokers to the pinnacles of sound creation, perhaps beyond their actual merits. "Galactic Supermarket" emerges as the second chapter of this sonic epic branded COSMIC JOKERS. An assemblage of musical minds, including the great names of the krautrock scene, unveils itself in an orgy of jam sessions. Manuel Göttsching, Klaus Schulze, Harald Großkopf, Dieter Dierks, Jürgen Dollase, Rosi Müller, and Gille Lettman channel their creative genius through an ecstasy of quirky sounds. Two tracks outline the dreamlike journey: "Kinder des Alls" and the title track, sound waves that soar into the Cosmic Void. The organic sound of Schulze resonates like a call from a cybernetic future, the guitar of Göttsching weaves an odyssey out of the Ash Ra Tempel records, while Dollase, like a sonic alchemist, adds various keys, from piano to mellotron. Highly recommended to all cosmic travelers.
