The rain beats against the windows of the city's numerous houses. It is a dark night, a gloomy evening, darkness, but even at this late hour, there is someone still wandering around the city, without a destination, without a reason, without hurry. Corveleno. Rome. 2003. "Heavy Metal".

The Roman trio returns after a well-received album released exactly the previous year, with a similar title, in fact, moving from "Rock'n'Roll" to "Heavy Metal". You might be wondering, my friends, has the quality of the product changed? Not a chance, my dear ones, it is the same, the same that has and continues to move the lovers of this genre. But it is also quite possible that the group has even surpassed itself, Squarta produces his works divinely, Primo and Grandi flow wonderfully, but after all, some things are known... In circulation precisely since '95, after various participations in various compilations and various releases, 2004 was a golden year for the band's members, particularly for Primo, who with this album and "Bomblocat" managed to impose himself, becoming one of the best artists on the market, participating in several Italian albums at that time, naturally talking about the hip-hop genre.

An album with raw sounds, without predefined rules and rich in peripheral atmospheres, which make the work very gloomy and, pardon the unusual term, dark. An album that, in my opinion, should primarily appeal to the trio's enthusiasts, in fact, their style is the same, but even those who do not know them, I believe, will not have difficulty listening to the CD. Many themes are addressed, particularly the beautiful one Primo decided to talk about in the fantastic track "Un Mestiere Qualunque", a now well-known song that also has a video that has had great media success; the old story, my friends, I will not tell you... I know well that you will have the honor and privilege to hear it someday. But not yet. Not yet. Also worth noting are gems like "Le Guarde, I Pompieri E L'Ambulanza" or "Potente In Culo". In short, for those looking for a "raw", powerful album to listen to in one go, I'm sure you will enjoy this, and the rating I'm about to give is well-deserved, but given the lack of featuring, I'm sorry but it doesn't get a 5. An LP full of atmospheres, hard, the angry voices of the trio are the hallmark of this group.

The Corveleno have confirmed themselves as a prominent presence in the Italian hip-hop scene, and their next product will surely be better than this one, and I naturally won't refrain from getting it. And meanwhile, the Corveleno continue to walk undisturbed in the rain, without a destination, without a reason, without hurry. But where will these guys reach? Will they finish first? Perhaps. But not yet. Not yet.
