"Heavy Metal" by Cor Veleno was released in 2004 and it's a hip-hop album that rocks hard!
The album consists of sixteen tracks splendidly produced by Squarta, with Primo and Grandi doing the rest, one microphone... let's gooooooooooooooooo!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
There's a track that rocks harder than the others "Le guardie, i pompieri e l'ambulanza" just think about this steel rhyme "mo' è la volta giusta, l'estate chiede singoli, io metto bombe sotto il culo dell'industria". Then you can't not mention "Potente in culo" an attack on journalists with their noses in the air, particularly one who doesn't like Cor Veleno. In short, a powerful attack, impossible to stay still!
The more engaged tracks are still great, engaged in the sense that they address social themes without falling into political jargon like many groups that frankly have become tiring. These are "Kamikaze", "Fenomeni" and "Un mestiere qualunque". Of course, it's not just hip-hop, this album is also much more, tough guitars in "Heavy Metal", and dominant bass in "Giungla giungla" (with my aggressive approach, I throw some explosive in that shitty place; because I have the minimal sound that if you touch it, it blows, Squarta helps me, for you all it’s your downfall;)
Oh, I almost forgot a piece from "Fenomeni" "a prize pool or a nice fresh victory? / some mothers fear that it’s just a lure, but they don't say a word, it'd be extraordinary to have their daughters' butts in some calendars". Take that home!
Irreverence, controversy, and cheerfulness for a fantastic CD that many should take as an example.
And listen to it before judging!
