This album is the last published testament of Chuck Schuldiner's musical genius, who, throughout his musical career, has left a significant and indelible mark on the history of metal. After disbanding Death, Evil Chuck managed to bring this masterpiece to life, which he had already been thinking about during the times of Symbolic.

He wanted to merge the progressive Death Metal of the last albums with the classic Heavy Metal with which he grew up. Consequently, the passing of the microphone to the excellent Tim Aymar was fundamental, as he is the album's unique, wonderfully expressive heavy voice, giving emotion to the lyrics, which are less angry and much sadder and more melancholic.

Musically, this work is undoubtedly dominated by the rhythmic section: the superhuman technique of drummer Richard Christy is felt, not so much on the fast double bass drum riffs, but rather on the breakdowns rich in breathtaking syncopations; and then DiGiorgio, in this album, expresses his abilities and sound at their best: the historic Frog Sound of his fretless, alternated with the sweet/violent whistle of his Flanger.

Definitely noteworthy is the wonderful CD artwork, which in my opinion, has been a fundamental part of Chuck's work since Death's Human. In conclusion, a true, authentic, and complete Work of Art.
