The Condemned, an Ultra Brutal band from the United States, have recently released this "Desecrate The Vile", and present Brutal Death partially influenced by Slam and American Disgorge.

Essentially, the Condemned do not produce anything new; it's still very heavy Brutal Death Metal with complicated riffs, high-speed drumming, deep and cavernous bass, and extensive use of harmonics by the guitarists. Let's move on to a qualitative analysis of the CD to highlight its strengths and weaknesses. Undoubtedly the album is well-performed, despite being nothing new, nothing is taken for granted and every instrument is at its best. The growler takes inspiration from Disgorge, with a hoarse and prolonged gurgling that so scandalizes those who are not accustomed to the genre. The songs do not exceed 3 minutes and are essentially very fast and furious, although the classic slowdowns of the genre are certainly not missing.

The only flaw of the album, in my opinion, remains the lack of originality of the work, obviously forgivable but which contributes to keeping the band in the background and labeling them as "the usual Brutal band". I do not deny that Brutal (but not only it) is a genre where repetitiveness is widespread in the vast majority of bands, but it is also one of the most despised genres by people, especially the so-called Ultra Brutal, appreciated mainly by the true fans of the genre. Personally, I believe that the Condemned are a band full of resources, capable of producing excellent CDs as they have demonstrated with this "Desecrate The Vile", truly excellent in terms of technical and instrumental aspects, which perhaps only falls a bit short in originality.

Stay Brutal
