Conception are a Norwegian melodic/prog-power metal band formed in 1989 by the Østby brothers. They released acclaimed 1990s albums (Parallel Minds, In Your Multitude), disbanded in 1998, reunited for live shows in 2005 and returned with new material from 2018 onward.

Founding members include guitarist Tore Østby; singer Roy S. Khantatat (Roy Khan) replaced original singer Dag early on. The band moved from a thrash/power-influenced debut toward a progressive-power sound. Tore Østby later formed Ark (mentioned in reviews). The band used crowdfunding for their 2018 EP.

Conception are a Norwegian band known for melodic prog-power metal. Reviews praise their 1990s classics (Parallel Minds, In Your Multitude) and note a long hiatus (breakup in 1998) followed by reunions and later releases. The 2018 EP and 2020 album marked a stylistic continuation toward less metal and more melancholic/atmospheric sounds.

For:Fans of progressive/power/melodic metal; listeners who appreciate keyboards, melody and Roy Khan's voice; nostalgia-driven metal fans.

The actual rating for this album would be 110 with honors and an academic kiss.
