There are record labels capable of exploring over time and with rare effectiveness new musical territories. Capable of charting the course for new sound frontiers. In past decades, names like Beggars Banquet or 4AD. In recent times, Warp, Ninja Tune, or Mille Plateaux. Today, in the midst of the transition to digital, peer-to-peer, and one-to-one, it seems that for labels the end is already written. Yet, several examples persist that overturn this thesis. Two names. In experimental electronics, there is Raster-Noton, and in contaminated electronics, The Leaf Label that promotes, along with figures like Murcof, Susumu Yokota, and Manitoba, also her. Colleen the fairy.

Dispenser of electroacoustic spirals. Composer of futuristic music boxes. Weaver of atmospheric interlaces. Of flying rounds. Of sound fragments lost in the ether. Of low-fi digital carpets made of cowbells, children's chatter, white noise, and crackling needles. Of orchestral arpeggios, classical melodies, acoustic guitars. "Nice and Simple". Colleen the magician. She creates spacetime vortices. She creates unspoken invitations. She creates ecstatic and reticular hypnosis. Colleen the witch. Because she hints at the carousel. "Ritournelle". The first carousel. The one made of joy and emotions. Yet she turns off the lights. And the world spinning is today's. Dark and menacing. And it spins too fast. In that carousel that appears out there. Always the same. There are ghosts and nightmares. There are the crafty ones on the horse. There are the gamblers on the spaceship. There are the drowned stowaways on the dolphin going up and down. There are jeeps, machine guns, and airplanes. That shoot for real. In the carousel that appears to Colleen there is an absence and much sadness. There is a grief to process. That of Frèderic, the brother who disappeared at 21. She dedicates this album to him. "Everyone Alive Wants Answers". Colleen the fragile has waited ten years to translate her answers into music. And spread them to all the sensitive souls who wish to listen.

Thank you, Colleen.
