If you're looking for a serious and professional product, look elsewhere: these Germans are, in the Grind Gore scene, what “Elio e le storie tese” are in the context of Italian pop.

As the band's name suggests, their musical offering is that of senseless Grind focused on sexual themes.

The fifteen songs aren't very structured and generally consist of two or three riffs that are slowed down and sped up according to the classic structures of the genre: even though they are very simple, the compositions are very captivating, dynamic, and executed correctly. Obviously, Cock And Ball Torture are not technical monsters, but they play decently (unlike many Grind bands that don't even know if you pluck the strings or turn the tuning pegs to play a guitar): in particular, the Drummer, even though he does not perform daredevil numbers and does not invent anything new, offers a truly good and engaging performance.

As for the singer, the same cannot be said; whether you like his growls or not (an English magazine simply defines his voice as “Toilety” or “Toilet-like”) and they fit well in this musical context, the fact remains that most of the work is done by the distortions and not him. Fortunately, thanks to a very full but not confused production, the voice can be considered in the background.

But the strength of this record is undoubtedly the humor: the band (fortunately) laughs at themselves and just a glance at the tracklist is enough to understand it. Titles like “Heterosexual Testosterone Compressor” or “Enema Bulldozer” speak for themselves and reveal the goal of their work: to entertain.
There's no denying it, they succeed excellently: the listening is smooth and unpretentious, and it is almost impossible not to be carried away by the impactful force of these songs, whose short length avoids repetitiveness and boredom.

Cock And Ball Torture deliver a work that is easy to listen to and thoroughly enjoyable: laughs and headbanging are the effects of this truly pleasant and direct album.
