Cochi Ponzoni e Renato Pozzetto

Musical Group

Italian comedy-musical duo known for cabaret-influenced songs, TV and film appearances, and collaborations with figures like Enzo Jannacci and Dario Fo.

Reviews note the 1976 album Ritornare alle 17 (produced/endorsed by Enzo Jannacci), songs such as "L'inquilino","Il Pino","Sturmtruppen","Generale Pizza","Cos'è la vita","La moto" (credited to Dario Fo and Enzo Jannacci), and "A Lourdes". The compilation Le canzoni intelligenti was reissued on CD after the TV series Nebbia in Val Padana. One review states Ritornare alle 17 has not been reissued on CD and original vinyl copies are rare and expensive.

Two DeBaser reviews examine Cochi & Renato's albums Ritornare alle 17 (1976) and the compilation Le canzoni intelligenti. Reviews praise the duo's cabaret-musical inventiveness, collaborations (Enzo Jannacci, Dario Fo), and note rarity of original pressings.

For:Fans of vintage Italian comedy, cabaret and musical comedy; collectors of rare LPs and listeners of 1970s Italian comedy music.

This is their last album, after which gradually each of them will take different paths, one continuing an already sparkling film career, the other discovering the joys of theater.

I usually don't like collections, but apparently the only way today to listen again to the ironic and sharp nonsensical songs of these two giants of Italian comedy is this CD that came out a while back after the TV series "Nebbia in Val Padana."
