Clara Rockmore (1911–1998) was a virtuoso theremin performer known for pioneering work on the theremin and for her performances accompanied by pianist Nadia Reisenberg.

The reviewed album The Art of the Theremin is a 1977-era recording; Nadia Reisenberg is the pianist accompanying Rockmore on that record. The review also references Moog in connection with the theremin and the album.

A highly positive review praising Clara Rockmore's virtuosic theremin technique and musicality. Highlights include performances of "Swan" (Saint-Saëns), "Hebrew Melody" and "Serenade melanconique" and the accompaniment by Nadia Reisenberg. Notes minor flaws: 1977 recording quality and some monotony inherent to the instrument's timbre.

For:Listeners interested in classical reinterpretations, vintage electronic instruments, theremin enthusiasts and students of performance technique.

A simply astounding album, mainly because the principal parts of the work are performed by the violinist Clara Rockmore, who, after years of study, specialized in the art of the theremin.
