THE REVIEW

Often, in music, the most important thing to have, but at the same time the hardest to maintain, is attitude.

Many bands, perhaps even talented ones, lack it and fail to achieve anything, they go nowhere. Others, on the other hand, have so much of it that they overcome the difficulties and handicaps they encounter, or they use it to enhance their shortcomings.

Like what these guys from Ohio have imposed upon themselves. Playing post-HC with the acoustic guitar, always and only, and making an album out of it. Timid bass and driving drums. Emphasis slightly (and understandably) tilted towards the clean parts, which however are not the best. And I swear that if you listen inattentively, you won't notice the “lack” too much.

I hope that Free Bird II, Transgressions, or White Roses can speak to you as they did to me.

Summary by Bot

Citycop's album showcases a rare and strong attitude by playing post-hardcore exclusively with acoustic guitar. The combination of timid bass, driving drums, and predominantly clean parts creates a unique sound that overcomes certain shortcomings. Tracks like Free Bird II, Transgressions, and White Roses stand out as highlights. Despite some uneven moments, the album holds a compelling emotional impact.
