Year 1980 – First Punk-Hardcore Wave in the USA.
Singer Keith Morris leaves Black Flag and forms Circle Jerks, releasing the first album "Group Sex”. And it immediately becomes a milestone in punk music, 14 songs in less than 17 minutes, mad shards played at 100 mph, sudden tempo changes that at most reach a minute and a half. This album, packed with sex, alcohol, and smoke all with a (very high) dose of indifference and youthful discomfort that characterized the maladapted youth of those years (but also of today) contains “Wasted” (taken from the Black Flag repertoire along with “Don't Care” and skillfully sped up), ”Red Tape”, ”Group Sex” and the famous “Live Fast Die Young” which are real anthems. A very fresh album with the sun, sea, and chaos of Los Angeles, which, after listening to it, will make you crave a beer or a joint, just to get a little “Wasted”.
