Chuck E Weiss. The dear old Chuck E. from Rickie Lee Jones' song: the one in love for whom everything was supposed to be wonderful... simply a true outsider and a genuine madman: a man who plays for a healthy desire for fun and playful entertainment, a dear friend of Tom Waits who lives in a trailer with a 120-kilo black wife and seven children. The true Freak here gifts us splendid songs worthy of the scores of the greatest: torch songs, blues, and more openly Afro tracks where our man takes to his natural role as a cabaret performer/storyteller and part-time bluesman... an old class loafer the great Chuck!

The same Tom Waits admits to sometimes having more fun improvising with him than in "official" productions. Chuck E. is a true ungrammatical free spirit who revels in his crazy and derivative insights: a hilarious madman who must have influenced his illustrious friends' work on more than one occasion. I love this man capable of such authorial mimicry, a person outside the box who attaches no importance to the fashions around him and enjoys belting out blues full of soul and blood in the company of friends.

Damn, what a fantastic thing old Chuck E. is! If you've never tried him, reduce your soda stream and go into the woods alone; you might encounter a voodoo bonfire: there in the middle of the circle could be Chuck, full of joy and with a disregard for the "needs" of today's life.
Chuck E. Weiss the old wolf: listen to his blues and be enchanted!
