To give us an idea of what the Chrome Cranks are made of in their latest 2012 work "Ain't No Lies In Blood", the opening track "I'm Trash" would be enough, a devastating garage punk shouted by a possessed Peter Aaron.
The Chrome Cranks have returned with new flammable material after more than a decade, their latest works were collections of various tracks recorded from '93 to '96, and a live album.
The recipe doesn't change, blues, punk, garage, all blended with a noise attitude, which makes their sound truly deadly, even if relatively more refined than previous works.
We find the same energy that animated PUSSY GALORE, CHEETER SLICKS, BASSHOLES and various others who in the '90s dismantled rock, reconstructing it by injecting massive doses of noise, creating a mutant sound that left no escape.
Listen to the treatment given to the Byrds in the maltreated cover of "Lover Of Bayou", a minor track of which I have only a vague memory, 10 minutes of noise, guitars, slashes that devastate, a sickly singing, that rip apart the hapless Byrds.
An album that should not go unnoticed by lovers of the wildest and most visceral rock.
