The Profile

Chroma Key is the American ambient/electronic project of Kevin Moore (ex-Dream Theater), known for the albums Dead Air for Radios (1998), You Go Now (2000), and Graveyard Mountain Home (2004). The latter was conceived as an alternative soundtrack to the 1955 social-guidance film Age 13.

Kevin Moore co-founded Dream Theater and played on When Dream and Day Unite (1989), Images & Words (1992), and Awake (1994). Reviews note he left the band and lived in Costa Rica hosting a radio show. Graveyard Mountain Home is built by slowing the film Age 13 to half speed and layering a new soundtrack while leaving original dialogue audible; Moore handled vocals and various sound textures, closing with the song 'Again Today'.

Two reviews explore Kevin Moore’s Chroma Key from brooding, personal reflections on Dead Air for Radios to a glowing appraisal of Graveyard Mountain Home as a film-synced experience. The latter highlights Moore’s half-speed re-score of the 1955 film Age 13, blending ambient, post-rock, and psychedelic textures. Across both, Moore’s break from Dream Theater and cinematic approach define the project’s identity.
