The Profile

English blues and soul singer born in 1940, best known for the 1966 UK No.1 hit Out of Time and later work with Colosseum.

Frontman of the Thunderbirds before breaking through with Out of Time (1966, UK No.1). Recorded and toured extensively in blues/R&B; later joined Colosseum in the early 1970s. Early studio recordings were produced by Jimmy Page. Long-running career as a distinctive, powerful vocalist.

A single review tackles the 3-CD anthology Stormy Monday - The Blues Years 1985-2008. It praises Farlowe’s voice and a few standout cuts, but finds much of the set uneven. Highlights include Out of Time, The Thrill Is Gone, and a track with “Van the man.” The reviewer riffs on early ties to Jimmy Page, Carl Palmer, and John Bonham, and recalls Farlowe’s UK No.1 success with Out of Time.
