Chicken Queens are Matteo Capirossi (Vocals/guitar) and Luca Sernesi (Drums/backing vocals), born in Modena in 2012.

Matteo Capirossi, the group's singer and guitarist, begins writing songs and structures heavily influenced by blues music. Think Muddy Waters, Jimi Hendrix, Howlin' Wolf, the Stones, and the Zeppelin, but also early punk and contemporaries like White Stripes and Jon Spencer Blues Explosion.

Then he meets Luca Sernesi, a drummer, at a jam session, and despite their strong stylistic differences, a deep understanding immediately arises between them, leading them to perform on several occasions, sparking strong interest among the local audience.

On the passionate line of Blues, Rock 'n’ Roll, and Garage, they debut in 2013 with their first album titled Up From The Grave. Thanks to their devastating "live" impact, they are chosen to play in many venues. They are also selected to represent Emilia Romagna at Arezzo Wave.

Thanks to the strong approval from the audience, they will have the opportunity to open for artists such as Gazebo Penguins, Management del dolore post operatorio, Le luci della centrale Elettrica, Massimo Volume, Marta Sui Tubi, Pan del Diavolo, Bud Spencer Blues Explosion.

In the summer of 2015, Chicken Queens return to the studio to record a second work characterized by more "new", engaging, and aware sounds compared to the previous one, with the addition of new instruments including bass, mandolin, harmonica, trumpet, violin, and keyboards, managing to maintain under the skin that old-school blues spirit that characterizes their style.

The band decides to record at Dude Music - Recording Studio of Correggio together with producer Stefano Riccò.

The result is an album, as they would say in England, "in your face". Straightforward rock 'n' roll, with a punk attitude, but also with an appealing "swing," that captivates from the first listen. Primitive, noisy, clattering, capable of interpreting the roots of blues in a modern and contemporary key.

The tracks of "BUZZ" are born from melodic, vocal, and instrumental ideas proposed by Matteo Capirossi and rhythmic ideas presented by drummer Luca Sernesi.

The pieces take on a more defined shape in jams, recorded in pre-production, and subsequently rearranged.

BUZZ distances itself from the stereotypes of a garage duo, raw and essential, and aims to be an album with the band's more original and modern sound, allowing for contamination, with the addition of various appearances (bass, mandolin, harmonica, trumpet, violin, and keyboards).
