LA RECENSIONE

CHERRYLLI presents NOMI (self-produced)

A very warm voice, interpreting the songs. A voice that effortlessly ranges between melancholic ballads (in the poignant "29 di maggio," which recalls the tragedy of the Heysel Stadium, during the European Cup final between Juve and Liverpool in 1985) where it almost duets with the piano, and sunny pop songs that seem to take flight. A voice that at times delivers words almost as a rapper (in "Navy"), that surfs on the playful funk notes of "Nuovo fiore". In short, an interesting voice in the new Italian pop scene. A voice supported by an excellent job in the arrangements, offering, within the traditional song form, several "turning points" that make the listening experience enjoyable and never predictable. Furthermore, the lyrics of "Nomi" were all written by Dici, an author who has already made a name for himself for his work on lyrics and music with the Parma-based band Scala H. A beautiful fusion between this vibrant voice and an author who, with his style of writing, as in the album with Scala H, proves to be a flood, with so many things, feelings, and emotions to offer. No small feat, today, in the emotional flatness of trap and Maneskin et similia.
