THE REVIEW

First LP from the Emilians CCCP, 'Compagni Cittadini Fratelli Partigiani' is definitely a milestone of Italian punk rock. Born from the alchemy of the minds of Zamboni and Ferretti, this album contains eight exquisite pills of IN - DE - FI - NI - BI - LE emotions.

"Militanz" (the first song) is beautiful precisely because I didn’t understand a damn thing, yet it's hilarious in the end when it warns children to come closer and watch out for dealers and sugar cubes. "Sono come tu mi vuoi" explodes between guitar scratches and drum orgasms, the eternal indecision of a man in front of what he should be: white or black depending on the situation. In "Morire" there's a tribute to our sister death through which one must disappear even if you don't feel like it, but it also delivers a slap in the face of consumer society "PRODUCE, CONSUME, DIE" the three laws of capitalism. Then it moves to: "Emilia Paranoica" I don't want to talk about this song so either listen to it, or take a look at the rudepravda site or go screw yourselves, I'll just tell you that the opening line of the song "a sharper cold, tense dry chords, signal your entry into my memory" gives an idea of what a subliminal message is (in fact, in Emilia Paranoica remixed contained in 'affinità divergenze' etc., this phrase is reversed creating precisely a subliminal message).

I reviewed half of the album and the computer went crazy, however, I will finish this review. So... we are at "Live in Punkow" which basically advises you to take refuge under the Warsaw Pact with a Stalinist five-year plan and social stability. "Mi Ami" is an erotic if not almost pornographic song: "a sad erection for a bothersome coitus for a modest coitus. indifferent sperm for indigestible swallows" 8===D - - - -

"Spara Jurij" is two minutes of madness, this track refers to an incident that happened on September 1, 1983; when Soviet fighters shot down a Korean airliner (with 300 civilians on board) mistaking it for an American spy plane. Jurij Andropov, then the secretary of the CPSU, is precisely the Jurij of the song (source Wikipedia). The album concludes with "punk islam" I'll just tell you that after listening to this piece, former Northern League minister Roberto Calderoli bought a Quran and converted to Islam, not only that... he downloaded from the internet the recruitment notice for a year in alQuaeda.

Well, it's a bit of a strange review but it might give an idea to those who have never listened to the album.
