LA RECENSIONE

Ok, if you have heard Humanure you will be taken aback: time changes, note changes, superb production, and jaw-dropping drums. What the hell happened? That is the first question you ask when listening to Karma.Bloody.Karma. I really enjoyed the previous "Humanure", but it had some quite noticeable flaws: aside from the production, the songs sounded quite alike and Travis Ryan (vocals) had not yet shown all of his abilities and talents. The cover sacrifices a bit of gore in favor of a much more thought-out image (even though the band later revealed that both the title and the cover were just a plan b...) And the music... Well, the music is different! If in the previous Humanure they showcased all their ability to make heavy music, in this record they have demonstrated that they too know how to experiment. Obviously, these experiments are really mild and will become an integral part of the compositional process starting from the next "The Harvest Floor". I believe this is due to the potential disappointment from fans, even though it was very well-received upon release. The Grind is still there, and some tracks are evidence of it (bereavement or the Carcass Derrick), but there is also melody (success is... Hanging by the neck) and of course heaviness (the whole album). Definitely an important chapter for those wanting to get closer to this band. Also, the cover caught my attention a lot and it was the record that made me start to truly love the Cattle. A recommended listen for all extreme metal lovers. The lyrics are still raw. But it is a caterpillar ready to become a butterfly.
