Archipelago of the french touch, summer 2006, a single was released that I believe none of you have never heard.

After Air and Daft Punk, Cassius also tried to make a splash at the music bar, perhaps not with the same luck as their colleagues.

Recorded in three weeks in Ibiza (where else?) "15 Again" is the typical take-it-or-leave-it album; they couldn't care less, and I like to imagine them on the beach, under a straw umbrella with the obligatory mojito in hand... zero stress... fantasies?

Then, if you add some high-profile collaborations, such as Sébastien Tellier and Étienne de Crécy, to give that touch of credibility that never hurts, the whole thing flows smoothly, without hiccups.

Another cameo comes from a still little-known, yet ever-charming, Pharrell Williams who sings in the sensual and galactic "Eye Water".

With almost ten minutes and the typical acid house Bass Line, they create "Jack Rock". The low-fi piano and Sympathy For the Devil-style choruses are just there to make you believe you're still at home in your pajamas and not to stray too far from the typically pop leitmotiv. The instrumental "Cactus" stays on the same ground... enjoyable.

"See Me Now" is a great track. Truly a great track, put together with the help of Le Knight Club (alias Guy-Manuel de Homem-Christo, one of the two Daft Punk, plus Eric Chedeville) which echoes the atmospheres the group had already accustomed us to in previous works: disco music echoes that take us straight back to the '70s, colored tiled floors and a mirrored ball overhead... a little gem, in short.

The more experimental and, in my opinion, interesting episodes can be heard in "A Mile from Here", with a backdrop of almost soul choirs and that irresistible dripping synthesizer solo, and "Cria Cuervos," which is coincidentally its reprise.

Not an indispensable album, in short, but one that, all things considered, wears its years well. Then moving beyond "Toop Toop," a song that nonetheless made history, one can hear two or three really interesting gems for fans of the genre.

Summer arrived? No? Then listen to Moondog damn it.

01   Toop Toop (02:47)

After all the words we sing
I got my eyes on my machine
You could just put online
So I got some piece of mine
I could keep up during night
I’m gonna search people fight
Hanging out on every ring
All I get is a machine

TOOP TOOP
After all the words we sing
SHOOT SHOOT
I got my eyes on my machine
