Here comes the album of the summer 2005!! I had nearly given up hope... I was just about to name the two albums featuring the indestructible Edie Sedgwick as joint winners (one as a self-titled debut, the other as Justin "Destroyer" Moyer, bassist of Supersystem, formerly El Guapo... two splendid albums!) ...and then, in my hands (after paying, of course...) comes this CD by someone called Cassetteboy??
A bomb... a mix after mix delivered with undeniable class and "ease", never a predictable track, a continuous discovery (and rediscovery) of perhaps unknown but very valid tracks.
Bravo Cassetteboy...
Recommended: to those who couldn't care less about summer musical trends (maybe the usual pseudo-Latin dance with a swaying lady and a stroking macho man) and prefer something more "substantial".
Not recommended: to those who spend summer with trendy CDs and dances (when will there be a new dance involving simultaneously doing the "quaquà" arm movements while spinning on a buoyant bike that can also flip over in the water to do a few synchronized swimming moves with your feet, without ever letting go of the bike?)
