LA RECENSIONE

The rock album of the year is definitely by Casablanca: the second endeavor of the band by Max Zanotti and Stefano Facchi (formerly of Deasonika while Zanotti was also the voice of Rezophonic) is robust, mature, and intriguing like few records.

While Afterhours and Marlene Kuntz reshuffle the usual past without anything more inspired and the new generations (see Ministri, perhaps the most credited band to pick up the pieces) are still out of focus, "Pace violenza o costume" (Vrec label, Audioglobe distribution) is a complete and lively album from the first track "Maschere" to the penultimate "Un taglio in bocca."

In between, tear-jerking singles ("Lei," "Ti Sto cercando"), heart-stopping blows ("Un punto di sutura"), and true poems ("Niente rose," "Una ragione di più"). A magnificent album to which the experimental "Minuetto" is added, where the band tries to experiment with a more modernized rock that still scratches and leaves a mark like few others.

Simply a must-have. Listen to believe.
