Cardinal Sin is a Swedish metal project formed by former Dissection guitarist John Zwetsloot. The band recorded the EP 'Spiteful Intents' with contributions from members of Marduk; no further releases followed.

John Zwetsloot was a guitarist in Dissection and contributed classical guitar interludes and songwriting to their early work. The Cardinal Sin debut EP 'Spiteful Intents' features Magnus "Devo" Andersson and Jocke "Af Gravf" Göthberg of Marduk. The project's style recalls a blend of black and melodic death metal with occasional thrash elements. The band has not released material after the 'Spiteful Intents' EP according to the reviewed sources.
