An absolute disaster; therefore a marvel.
Starting with the "carcass-like" cover: a vile and putrid business card for the very first unsettling musical release of the English band.
A demo recorded with only a handful of pounds; twenty minutes of foul and purist Goregrind. Horrible sounds where hardly anything can be distinguished: drums, bass, guitar, and the voice itself are deadly cacophonic instruments.
Very short razor-like tracks recounting deaths, internal viscera, bodily fluids, and decay: a godsend for those who grew up with these abominable sounds.
Most of the songs included here will be revisited the following year in their full-length debut "Reek Of Putrefaction" (another anthology title).
But back to the demo: twenty minutes that smell of black infernal mud. A series of lacerating tracks where the vocalist Sanjiv stands out: it's his only official appearance with Carcass. He will soon be replaced by bassist Jeff Walker, famous for his growl so dramatically abrasive.
"Testicle Mincer", "Regurgitation of Entrails", "Malignant Defecation", "In Pieces" are some illuminating examples of the sick path followed by the young four guys from Liverpool.
An absolute disaster (indeed); stay well away from it... Necro-Cannibal Bloodfeast...
The genesis of a band legendary in its own way.
