Carcass and Godflesh are English metal bands linked here by a Peel Sessions compilation: Carcass emerged from late-80s grindcore/death metal; Godflesh pioneered industrial metal with the 1989 album Streetcleaner.

This compilation collects BBC Peel Sessions material: according to the review Carcass recorded eight tracks in two sessions (first in December 1988, the second two years later) and Godflesh recorded four tracks in August 1989. The sessions were hosted by John Peel and released by Earache.

A DeBaser 5/5 review of the Earache Peel Sessions compilation pairing Carcass and Godflesh. Carcass' tracks capture their early, extreme grindcore (sessions in Dec 1988 and 1990), Godflesh's four tracks (Aug 1989) preview the Sound of Streetcleaner. The review praises John Peel and highlights "Cadaveric Incubator Of Endo Parasites" and "Like Rats."

For:Fans of grindcore, death metal, industrial metal, John Peel sessions and late-80s underground metal history.

Too much cleanliness on the homepage; too many lukewarm reviews.
