Although little known in Italy, the Swiss band Cancer has quite an impressive track record. They have shared the stage with Donots, Casting Out, Fenix TX, and Kris Roe, and as if that weren't enough, the members are part of the MXPX All Stars band, so they definitely know what they're doing.

Today, a few months after the original release, “The Weight Of The World” has finally arrived in Italy, an EP that exudes old-school punk rock from the first to the last moment. The stylistic references of the Greek trio are evident from the very first notes: Social Distortion, H2O, and Descendents are names that have significantly influenced the growth of this project, worthy of consideration thanks to the quality of the songs presented here. Compared to today’s typical alternative productions, Cancer has paid a lot of attention to the lyrics, never banal and even more enjoyable through the good vocal interpretation of the frontman, definitely up to par.

That the band knows punk rock well is evident from the ease with which they showcase a wide range of sonic solutions, often venturing into rock-oriented scenarios with a high melodic content. In short, a great piece of work, whose only triviality might be represented by the artwork, traditional yes, but not very striking. A flaw that does not tarnish what Cancer does best: music.
