THE REVIEW

They will rise to fame, it’s what they deserve, but no one will ever know and it’s better this way, because we want the Camillas just for us few, carefree and mischievous souls.

This first EP from the Pesaro duo brings serenity and leaves a smile on your face, thanks to earthy melodies and poetically minimalistic and ironic lyrics, all created with a guitar, a sequencer, and two adult voices, perhaps only grown in age. Their cult concerts are hilarious and make no sense at first glance, but even at a second glance, opinions remain the same: they delve into synth-pop with some bewildering alterations and some sunny melodies, as in "Problemi", where they recount the lives of various people, accompanied by a radiant arpeggio and melodic synthetic sounds, leading to a sing-out-loud, engaging finale that reaches the heart. "Gina" is romantically paced: a catalog of numbers and phrases strikes the soul and paves the way for an annoying, cash-strapped garage pop to sing in the face of those you really can’t stand; of course, the title of the song is "Mi Dai Fastidio", sarcastically annoying. Each of us, at least once in our lives, has sung a little song made up on the spot, turning it into a personal little hit: this is the case with "Banana Bullone", a list of random words inserted into a sort of chant, spectacularly banal; the making of this track is then picked up as a ghost track after "Tu Sei Un Animale", a sort of rave-pop tunz tunz not to be taken too seriously, which ends with goats bleating to the rhythm of the final degeneration.

Sometimes you don’t have to be ashamed to listen to nonsense music if it puts you in a good mood; if the Camillas are setting the rules... they do the most banal things that come to mind and they do it well; not everyone can do that!
