Well, anyway, since my reviewing vein has recently returned and with my gang of friends we recorded this here stuff, I said to myself: why not share it with the vast, prepared, and outspoken people of Debaser?

Of course, we're talking about a little something recorded with few pennies, in little time, and probably with ambitions bigger than our means, but you know... one ends up growing fond of their creations.

Overlooking the band's name (which is for the best), I allow myself to present a brief and concise Track by Track of such an EP christened in a moment of euphoria “Intergalactica.”

Kaipuke E Rere: it wants to be a super radio hit like those that air on the radio and people make millions off. Lacking the radio and the millions, it remains a danceable rhythm that degenerates into a voodoo madness at the end. The name (which pays homage to our Maori roots) should mean "The Sailing Ship" to recall the musical citation at the end and also because a crappy name always suits a radio hit.

Hüsker Yoü: I won't even tell you who we'd like to pay homage to with this title (God willing, for once I'm talking to people who understand me). Obviously, the homage is more or less just in the name and the second verse, which wants to be a kind of citation to our beloved couple Bob-Grant. Eh, perhaps in the end, it's nothing more than the usual big ballad.

An Idiot At The Door: dedicated to our most unfaithful friend "The Snake" the serpent in the bosom, it also wants to be a radio hit, this time less calypso and more Indie style. But unfortunately, the time in the studio was running out and it turned out a bit crappy.

Anti-quiet: the unlucky sister of the batch. Poor thing, it turned out quite bad and clashes quite a bit with the other sisters. The version recorded in the garage turned out better, but hey: it's all good little one! We love you anyway! Live though, yelling like an animal always brings lots of satisfaction.

HYDRA: the lyrics talk about comic book heroes, the music should somehow be akin to the sweet Suzanne Vega. Perhaps it's a bit anonymous (?) but the little bass solo in the middle of the song makes us very happy with it too.

In the end, just the umpteenth EP of the umpteenth band recorded hastily. What makes us happy is that our songs seem to take on their own identity and, taken as a whole, do not fall too squarely into an overly defined genre. Especially not from Italian bands.

What perplexes us is that maybe they suck (poor things)! But on the other hand, there's also a lot of people who claim that Trout Mask Replica sucks...
