Violence. Pure violence. This is perhaps the noun that most fits this latest chapter in the discography of the Death band from Brescia origins. The album is a pure concentration of rage and release, each track leaves us speechless due to the spectacular nature of the liberating emotions it encapsulates.
Deathsters will inevitably like this album: we are in the realm of brutal Metal, sometimes growling, with driving rhythms that have little to do with classic Brutal (Cannibal Corpse, Suffocation, and the like). The dynamics of the album are certainly very interesting and enjoyable, and the instruments are played with great class. The drums vaguely recall punkish tunings (like "Duemilatre" by Skruigners), but they settle on great Death rhythms, even though they use the beloved double pedal less, in favor of new and fresh rhythms. The bass is closely linked to the drums and greatly assists in the tracks. The two guitars are undoubtedly excellent: they pound on riffs at great speed, with considerable power, played with great skill, characterized by harsh distortions but with rounded tendencies. Well done. The voice is spectacular: throughout the album, it plays on two tones; the classic growl, very dark (vaguely reminiscent of Barnes, in the Cannibal Corpse era), and a fierce and liberating scream (which, at times, vaguely recalls the black of bands like Gorgoroth, Mayhem, etc.). It's the voice itself that tends to categorize Cadaveric in the limbo of Death/Grind.
As mentioned before, each track is astounding. The album opens with "Valloggia": a typical opening track where random sounds are heard, ultimately putting us in a good mood, making us feel like typical workers (from Brescia, in my opinion) on the job, with a final censored profanity. The second track, "Jesus Virus", is what draws us into the "Serial Grinder" world: it starts with a quick riff, a very brief semi-silence, and then the voice introduces us, with a scream, to frantic and violent rhythms. An obligatory mention also goes to "Brixia Chainsaw Massacre" (whose title is obviously inspired by the classic "The Texas Chainsaw Massacre"), which, given the title, reveals the Brutal characteristics of the group, also exuding a slight pride from Brescia (oh, a great Death Band, proud of our city).
The Cadaveric can also be amusing, as previously mentioned: "Paster of Muppets" is proof of this; a short track dominated by the legendary Metallica riff, with voices singing a hilarious "Oh" in rhythm. "La Vendetta Del Fantasma Serial Grinder" is perhaps the emblem of Death/Grind: a short track, around forty seconds, where the singing is rhythmic and shouted to the limit of strength, accompanied by furious rhythms. In "Infection", they attempt to lead us on a journey with psychedelic characteristics, with clean guitars, various effects, and some short inserts: an excellent idea and excellent execution (it is known that Brutal bands do not excel in certain areas). The album concludes with "Kings Of Farm", another fun reference (Manowar), where a little girl asks her father, all in English, to tell her a story: between ducklings, sword noises, and more, at the end, the girl's father gives us another profanity, all narrated by a fun voice.
In summary, there is no doubt. This is a great album with a unique sound. Truly excellent, and well-produced (even in production).
