THE REVIEW

Last studio effort for the revived Buckcherry of Josh Todd and Keith Nelson. They were born in '95 in Los Angeles, but their first self-titled album would only see the light four years later, just on the brink of the new millennium. The boys even managed to open some dates for AC/DC in 2000, winning important segments of the audience. After the debut album came "Time Bomb" dated 2001, and now we arrive to the present day and to the album I am about to review.

"15" was released in 2005, recorded in just two weeks (hence the album's title) with an entirely new line-up, except for the two founding members Josh Todd and Keith Nelson, the group's voice and guitar respectively.

The album opens with "So Far," and the dance begins... "Drinking and smoking and fucking and making nothing..." In short, it's "pure" Hard/Glam/Sleaze Rock, for all lovers of the best Guns n' Roses. A healthy dose of Hard Rock that gets stuck in your head after the first listen and to which you can't resist, complete with a Slash-style solo halfway through the song. The next track "Next To You" is one of the best pieces of the album in my opinion, in terms of sound it's still laid-back and catchy Hard rock, because that's what Buckcherry is: fun and carefree escape, with an irresistible refrain just like the subsequent "Out Of Line," the most Ac/Dc-like track of the album. "Everything" is a beautiful melancholic song in a rock key, not quite a melt-your-heart power ballad, the lyrics have sweet and romantic flavors like the subsequent "Carousel," which in a semi-acoustic key reproduces sounds that a fan of Tyler and Perry's band could surely not ignore, especially in the refrain where Josh pays a great tribute to Steven Tyler. We find more sweetness in "Sorry," a classic ballad to listen to with your girl. However, the best episode of the album is "Crazy Bitch" Rock n' Roll in every respect with a "spicy" text as suggested by the song title itself which was released as a single, by the way. The subsequent tracks are a pleasure to listen to, from "Sunshine" to the country sound of "Brooklyn," there is always great enjoyability that accompanies the entire work.

Perhaps I've rambled on a bit too much, but in my opinion, this is a band that any fan of Guns n' Roses, Aerosmith, Ac/Dc should give a good listen to. You won't regret it, it's music that captivates you at first listen and without too many expectations.
