26 November, the date that introduced me to a new band. From Pontinia, Punk with Metal tinges, nonsensical and blasphemous to most, ladies and gentlemen, I present to you Bruno Marcio. On that very 26th of November, unaware of what I was about to hear, I went to the venue, only to leave amused with a copy of "Te Piace Il Sushi?", the first effort by dear Bruno dated 2005.

I pop the disc into the player, having no clue what to expect… but… nothing plays! Is it broken? Oh no, I hear something: “Pt Pt Pt” the disc seems to be skipping inside the player, then it stops, silence, and then a narrated intro begins, none other than by Er Finestra, serving as a warning for Punks, Retards, and Prudes to immediately turn off the CD, followed by a brief series of swear words to give the listener a tantalizing taste.

So I'm faced with the first track, "16 consenziente", a stretch of simple and fast Punk Rock, a cheerfully vulgar song where the group states its opinion on the age of consent and showgirls, you can imagine what Bruno thinks. I reach the second track, the very Japanese "Bukkake", which, as the title suggests, exalts the virtues of the splattering practice. Crude, deliberately trashy and with that "made in Japan" intro, it sticks in your head.

In the third track, "Ascia e Muschia" keeps me company, typical Punk with a drum intro that immediately brings to mind "Teenage Lobotomy" by the Ramones, a band Bruno is inspired by, the song slips by quickly and in the headphones appears one of the many short pieces placed by the band throughout the CD, a drumming mess, a scream at the top of his lungs and then comes "Biancona", a piece deliberately dedicated to an unknown (at least to me) friend of the group, guilty of not tanning and staying pale ad libitum "Vatte a fà na lampada de dò i soldi miei!" the singer shouts, but the proposal seems still declined. Again, a rather enjoyable song with a fine guitar interlude fills my ears, mmm these Marcio are good.

After Biancona it's the turn of "Sbroccola Sbroccoletta", the story of a girl fully devoted to alcohol, one of the best tracks on the album: a sort of Oi to sing until liver cirrhosis takes over. The dear alcoholic girl leaves us to take another shot and I get to "Sabaudia De Merda": always Punk but a bit more acidic than the previous tracks and doesn't disdain a Metal incursion towards the end, here the people from Pontinia shout their anger against Sabaudia, their city, because? Because there are no chicks, that's why! "No chicks? Alright, let's write a song about it."

During my sonic journey I stumble upon another cryptic snippet: "Stelvio Sincado", 5 seconds, the title repeated once, a similar-bewildered expression on my face, and I resume listening, here’s a new piece, an insult (or maybe both) presents itself to me, it’s titled "6 Un Down" a song with a Roman cadence featuring guitars that embroider a kind of Punk with melodic traits in the air, a fun and very easy listening piece. The eleventh track, as usual, talks about the famous cleavage with the hair above that Bruno likes so much: "I Believe Nella Fregna" a sort of off-key anthem to female genitals. Of the remaining 5 tracks, excluding the aforementioned snippets, the most appreciable are "Scatta La Valvola" and "100% AntiPischello", the battle cry of the band against the annoying adolescents infesting their small town.

To sum up, "Te Piace Il Sushi" is truly a good Punk-Demenziale music CD recommendable to the more open-minded and savvy listeners.
