It was like meeting an old friend again.

The fifth! Sure, the fourth was also good, but the fifth…

I liked it a lot, it's a sign that my personal process of regression and mask lock-down ye-ye closure is proceeding swiftly.

No, really, they played it well this time.

The fourth ended with Gotham exploding, Joker had planted the bombs, and Gotham was sinking into the darkest chaos and oblivion, so the fifth picks up from here.

The gangs are reorganizing but it's everyone against everyone, and the local police - James Gordon's GCPD - is increasingly isolated. The government says they will send aid from the mainland (Gotham lacks supplies, medicines, everything is missing), but then they don't send it; on the contrary, they stir up the murkiness worse than the villains.

It's more focused compared to the drift of the previous series where monsters and villains popped up at every turn and were quickly eliminated. The script and plot twists are calibrated and well-balanced, time passes, the actors grow, Catwoman (Selina, more beautiful than ever) and Bruce Wayne are now young adults, and he, while still a notoriously bad actor, has slightly improved. The costumes and the look of the villains are also improved, the level of violence has increased, and the level of nonsense and buffoonery has decreased (like in the fourth, they filmed it without even writing it, just for the money, and it turned out horrible).

I'm not even finished; I'm halfway through, but I like it now and I'm writing the review because maybe later I won't feel like it.

Anyway, I also watch many docu-series about serial killers and judicial errors, like in America where they brainwash you and make you confess to murders you didn't commit so they can say we've got him, guilty! Gotham has got me, damn it, I'm guilty too.
