Their debut The Age of Consent (1984) and singles Smalltown Boy and Why? addressed LGBTQ+ themes with chart success. Somerville left in 1985 to form The Communards; the group continued with line-up changes and scored Hit That Perfect Beat. They reformed in 2016 and released The Age of Reason (2017).
