The Profile

German music group formed in Duisburg at the end of the 1960s; released an eponymous album in 1971. Noted for acoustic, folk- and world-influenced instrumentation including sitar, tabla, mandolin and metallophone.

Associated with guitarist Peter Bursch.

A playful, ironic review celebrating Bröselmaschine's imaginative fusion of Celtic, Indian, African and Middle Eastern sounds. Notes the group's Duisburg origins and their eponymous 1971 release. Highlights diverse acoustic instrumentation — sitar, tabla, mandolin, metallophone — and compares the sound to Pentangle and John McLaughlin's Shakti.
