The Profile

Britny Fox are an American glam metal band from Philadelphia formed in 1985. They broke through with the self‑titled debut (1988) and Boys in Heat (1989). After Dean Davidson’s exit, Tommy Paris fronted the harder‑edged Bite Down Hard (1991). The band later reunited and released Springhead Motorshark (2003).

Formed in Philadelphia in 1985; genre: glam metal/hard rock. Classic lineup included Dean Davidson (vocals/guitar), Michael Kelly Smith (guitar), Billy Childs (bass), and Johnny Dee (drums). Smith previously played with Cinderella. Davidson was later replaced by Tommy Paris for Bite Down Hard (1991). Guests on that album include Zakk Wylde and Rikki Rockett (as noted in the review).

One review celebrates Britny Fox’s Bite Down Hard (1991) as a tougher, leaner turn in the band’s glam metal/hard & heavy arsenal. It highlights the Tommy Paris era, praises “Louder,” and hails “Six Guns Loaded.” The piece notes guest spots by Zakk Wylde and Rikki Rockett and frames the album as an overlooked gem kept alive by dedicated fans.
