THE REVIEW

The record I am about to review is an EP by the American singer Britney Spears. It was released on September 21, 2005 in Asia. It's quite a lively album except for the track "Someday (I Will Understand)," which contains 5 tracks compared to the 4 of its American and European counterpart, "Britney & Kevin: Chaotic." Naturally, the fantastic (so to speak) Jive Records decided not to let us buy this album too!

Let's analyze the tracks:

1. "Someday (I Will Understand)": Simply fantastic, as you listen, your mind travels to paradise and returns regenerated and satisfied by this track, one of the few written by Britney, few but good. Rating: 10/10

2. "Chaotic": As the title suggests, it's a very chaotic song, with an unleashed Britney conveying an incredible energy! However, it didn't particularly impress me; it feels a bit like an animated series theme song. Rating: 6.5/10

3. "Mona Lisa": In this song, Britney compares herself to Mona Lisa and tells her story. This song struck me a lot; you can't stop listening to it and humming it at least all day long! This track is the only one released from "Original Doll," Spears' secret masterpiece. Rating: 9/10

4. "Over To You Now": A song that the first time you hear it gives you a headache with all those effects that do not enhance Spears' voice at all but only cover it! Listening to it again, it sticks in your head, but one shouldn't be deluded because, indeed, it becomes tiresome. Rating: 6/10

5. "Someday (I Will Understand)(Hi Bias Remix)": The remix was unnecessary. Perhaps it ruined the song or made it a bit more club-like, but it wasn't needed; the original song was moving while the remix doesn't let me feel the beauty of the song much. Certainly, I can't say that it wasn't well done, actually, the remix is nice but nothing more.

Rating: 7.5/10
