LA RECENSIONE

Seeing the numbers certain bands have on the internet that seem to be mistakenly included in the current metal scene, I got curious and listened to the latest album of one of those that apparently has more success, Bring Me The Horizon. I had listened to some tracks from their debut album, "Count Your Blessings," their debut album, and they weren't that bad. You could feel the metal grit, and even if I didn't quite like the singer's voice, I repeat, they weren't bad.

Their fifth album, "That's the Spirit," presents itself with a cover that should already forewarn you of everything, and it starts with a track, "Doomed," which is a further warning to anyone intending to continue. It's practically a pop track like those played on the radio and forgotten after 2 months. The album continues with tracks that match the opener's average: extremely trivial electropop pieces with parts that should be metal but end up being combinations of: guitars you've heard a thousand times before, useless electronic effects, the singer shouting annoyingly into the microphone, and the drums being the only instrument that stands out.

With tracks like "What You Need" and "Drown," it really reaches the ridiculous; as for the rest, no comment on the single "Happy Song" and a small positive note for the violin contributions in "True Friends."

Anyway, the album is worth no more than one star, it's much less original than it's made out to be and absolutely unpleasant to listen to.
