THE REVIEW

The Brad is a hybrid formation of artists who have music in their veins.
Composed mainly of Stone Gossard (guitarist of Pearl Jam) and Shawn Smith (singer of Pigeonhed and Satchel), their sound is inspired by Beatles-like sounds and early '70s funk soul, also feeling the influence of a more melodic Prince.

Smith's harmonic sense is divine, especially when his voice blends with spine-chilling piano loops; Gossard is an astonishing guitarist with the ability to express things beautifully and make them real.

This third work offers brilliant, easily listenable rock'n'roll ballads without straying far from the sound of the first two albums "Interiors" and "Shame"; however, it remains music distant from that of Pearl Jam.
The group is a supernova that bursts every 4 years to then regenerate and shine anew.

In conclusion, Welcome to Discovery Park is one of the truest albums of 2003. Big names with magnificent potentials that succeed in combining everything in the best possible way.
