Brad Mehldau (born 1970 in Florida) is an American jazz pianist known for his trio work, solo piano recordings and for blending jazz improvisation with classical technique and contemporary pop covers. He moved to New York in 1989 and rose to prominence with acclaimed trio and solo albums.
