An anthology of dead ends! And what dead ends! These are those dark, infamous dead ends frequented by lowlifes ready to cut your throat for nothing.

Mathcore, metalcore, post-hardcore, and other unusual instruments of torture await us in these dead ends where, with masterful flair, they are handled and used with cold violence by the Americans Botch.

Botch was not an ordinary band at all. Discovered by chance, several years ago, I loved their two main albums immensely: "American Nervoso" and "We Are The Romans." Disturbing music, extremely violent, emotional to the right degree and filled with abrasive vocals.

The lyrics of Botch are something phenomenal. Psychological and introspective just right, yet not lacking in social invectives and fiery statements.

Comparisons? Hard to make! Here you can hear echoes of Neurosis and hints of metalized hardcore but extremely thoughtful. Music not suitable for everyone but, nonetheless, music that cannot leave anyone indifferent.

"An Anthology Of Dead Ends" is unfortunately destined to be remembered as their swan song. After producing two groundbreaking and very important works, the band, perhaps because they were not fully understood by the public, decided to pack up and move on to other projects. It's very sad, but this, it seems, was their conscious and deliberate decision.

An EP that seals the sonic power of the guys from Tacoma and that, in a threatening way, charts a geographic map of countries and nations that, in one way or another, have experienced U.S. encroachment. The titles? Framce, Japam, Spaim, Vietmam, Micaragua, and Afghamistam. Am I pulling your leg? No, they have decided (for reasons unknown) to replace the "N"s with "M"s.

Violent, shouted tracks filled with armored metal and hardcore explorations. The exception, in this case, is represented by the gloomy "Afgamistam": piano, viola, and semi-whispered voice. A black pearl that stands out and is loved within this enjoyable sonic inferno.

Goodbye Botch.
