If you enjoy the atmospheres created by groups such as Old Man Gloom, The Ocean, Neurosis, or Mare, then these Bossk are just for you. In fact, they'll make you as happy as a newly weaned Labrador (and believe it or not, newly weaned Labradors are very happy).

Bossk is a (almost) totally instrumental group that plays post rock so simple, which isn't quite so simple, that it captivates you immediately. Obviously, they've already come and gone, meaning they have already disbanded, and in their brief career (2005-2008) they released a split with an unknown band and 2 EPs. For the record, the first EP is called ".1" and the second ".2". This second work is the one that convinced me most; the first track "Define" in its 9 minutes represents for me the entire post-core-rock genre or whatever the heck it's called. I know, it's a heavy statement if we compare this band with the sacred monsters that 'reign' this genre (Pelican, Isis, and Cult Of Luna) but for me, it really is so; for the simple reason that when I listen to Bossk, the atmospheres of the aforementioned groups are somehow 'summed up' in one great, instrumental flow: "Define" is a clear example of this flow, with its disarming simplicity.

For the series "who the heck cares", the guitarist is now the merch guy (the one selling T-shirts during concerts) for the Architects and collaborated on the debut EP of the excellent The Mire (I recommend listening to them, personally they remind me of Mare).

As already mentioned with The Chariot, these are just a couple of lines to let people know about a band not present in the database; it certainly isn't intended to be a review of the record (also because I just can't elaborate them). Until next time.
