Jesse "the devil" Hughes unleashes his boisterous and bold ego, and thus his solo work is born: while maintaining the rock spirit that distinguishes him as the leader of Eagles of Death Metal, he lavishly coats it with electropop, having a great time during this period of recreation.
It begins with "Complexity", the usual provocative rock, with palpitating keyboards added, and you dance between chicks and watered-down beers. In "I Love You All The Thyme", the synthetic keyboards take over, and the atmosphere becomes glamorous; a great opener for "Boots Electric Theme", where the pimp in Jesse emerges, with sounds reminiscent of Electric Six and feminine shrieks. A dream pop aura, dazed by keyboards and Hawaiian guitars, echoes in "Dreams", continuing into "No Ffun", a piano ballad, romantic and filled with affection, transforming into the stoner rock of "Oh...Girl!", with a captivating rhythm, separated at birth from "Make It Wit Chu" by QOTSA friends. "Speed Demon" is a diabolical rockabilly, "You'll Be Sorry" is a child of Simian, while in "Trippy Blob", a dance groove combines with a sixties vibe, with the "gigantic" backing vocals. A very patriotic finale with "Swallowed By Night", a country song full of boots and hat, violin and guitar, stars and stripes.
Jesse Hughes is undoubtedly a spectacular character, he has fun and entertains... "The devil wears nada."
