LA RECENSIONE

To all those who think that hip hop is a simple music, where the presence of instruments is an extra and devoid of complexity... here is one of the most luminescent pieces of evidence to the contrary! Here reflects the “crème” of the underground sound, a very refined summary where concrete, metal, phosphorescence of synthetic sprays find their voice.

An excellent feat. between DJ Gismo and “B.O.W.”: two Finnish guys who take us on a journey to discover their unique sound, beat on beat, cold in its precision and surely with style to spare. Never before have I heard a song like “Freestyler,” where hard work of sampling is calibrated and measured to break the bpm in every tenth. If I had to define the genre the album is inspired by, I would say the Jurassic “breakbeats” of the '80s where synthesizers were the order of the day and there was a great desire for electromusic and electrovoice.

Even the most oversized DJ recognizes personality in this commercial product (but certainly not trash), one cannot deny the rich creativity that surrounds it. “Freestyler” is the leading track of the album, as is the pompous “Other Emcee’s,” great style, the anthem to hip hop culture “B-boys, Flygirl.” Pieces that certainly do not bore: “Rock, Rockin Tha Spot,” “1, 2, 3, 4,” “Stir Up The Bass.” More musical and well-received is “Sky’s The Limit,” where you catch your breath negotiating softer rhythms. An album for raised hands, to dance and shout. Recommended for all those who are taking their first steps towards hip hop music... recommended at full volume!

"It contains hip-hop ballads for break-dance like 'Freestyler', the symbolic song of this album."

"Sure, songs like '1, 2, 3, 4' or 'Sky's The Limit', a bit boring and repetitive, do not help this CD to deserve a 5."

By ZiOn

"The not-so-excellent sound immediately draws attention, and a good part of the responsibility falls on producer JS16."

"In Stereo soon sinks into the abyss of indecency, a zone sadly close to the derisive raspberries from Eduardo’s memory."
