Bomarzo, a charming town near Viterbo, is mainly known for the park of the famous "Monsters of Bomarzo".

But few people know about a magical place I discovered a few years ago thanks to a guide to mysterious and little-known places in the Viterbo area: the mythical G.

At the city gates, near the sports field and behind a water reservoir, a rugged path opens up, slightly marked by the few lucky ones who know the route.

The first stretch opens between farms guarded by rabid dogs and fields cultivated with vegetables and walnut trees, but going further you enter a fearsome forest.

Crossing the dark forest, you reach a structure dating back to the Etruscan period; it is, in fact, a pyramid, yes, a pyramid! It is made of tufa stone with four slopes and a central staircase, without a tip, with an upper altar.

In broad terms, it can recall the structure of the Mayan pyramids or those of the Mesopotamian area, but it's incredible! Even the Etruscans made pyramids!

I love this magical place; you can feel an air of pagan mystery, and under the influence of psychotropic substances (always respecting nature and others), I wander thinking of magical and sexual rites, human sacrifices, dark omens, astronomical affinities.

I recommend you take a nice trip; the site is easily accessible, you won't regret it!
